Vandals are removing tiles from the roof of a care centre and are throwing them at its windows.
Now the authorities want to install a 2.4-metre-tall fence at the front of the Thicketford Centre in Tonge Moor in response.
The care centre on Thicketford Road is home to a number of Bolton Council services, such as Bolton Cares and Bolton Carers.
The former offers support to older residents and those with dementia or disabilities, and the latter offers support to those who are carers to their families or friends.

But an application to install a 2.4-metre-tall fence suggests these services are seeing significant issues as a result of vandalism.
As the application is from the council, it is to be considered by a Planning Committee when it meets at the town hall this week.
It reads: "The building has suffered from vandalism for some time, this is in the main roof damage. The building is single-storey and roof access is a simple climb.
"The roof damage includes removal of roof tiles, the said tiles being thrown at windows causing further damage, including rain ingress, causing significant issues to the services."

The fence is more than 30 metres in length and it runs across the front of the single-storey section of the Thicketford Centre until it meets Tonge Moor Health Centre.
Members are recommended to approve the application after officers said there are no significant issues with the proposal.
A report reads: "The applicant has stated that the proposed fencing is required for security reasons. For the reasons discussed within this report it is considered that the proposed fencing would be compatible with the character and appearance of the application site and the surrounding area, would not impact on highway safety and would not affect the amenity of neighbouring residents.
"Members are therefore recommended to approve this application," it adds.
The Planning Committee meets at the town hall on February 2.
