Thieves who stole a car have left a mother and daughter without any means of attending vital appointments.
Sian Alison Kilcoyne is a carer for her elderly mum and uses it to take to her to the doctors and ensure she gets the care she needs.
But she woke up on Wednesday to find her grey Ford Fiesta stolen from Quintell Brow in Bromley Cross where she lives.
A walking stick, canvas bags and medals of St Christopher and Our Lady were in the car, which hold sentimental value to Sian.
Now Sian is reliant on the use of taxis to help the 86-year-old with everyday tasks.
She said the car was still there when she went to bed at 9.30pm but when she woke up at 6am it was gone.
She said: “It’s shocking really, especially because I saw the car the night before just through my kitchen window like always.
“I care for my mum, so I need a car. I go to see her five or six days a week and do all her shopping and washing as well as taking her to doctors’ appointments and social activities.
“This is the damage they do to people, and they probably don’t know it, but it means now I have to get a taxi to my mum’s every time, and this is an inconvenience.”
Sian’s neighbour also told her the car was still there after 10pm but another neighbour said that at 11pm, the car was gone, and they had assumed she was out.
Sian said: “If my mum has fallen over then I can’t get to her quickly now, I will have to ring a taxi and that will take even longer.
“That might me horrendous if something happens and I can’t get there in time.
“I do so much like picking up prescriptions and I don’t have a courtesy car either.
“I could hire a car, but they cost a fortune.
“I also want to say that my cat was also so frightened and keeps hissing.”

Sian said: "My late Dad gave me the St Christopher when I passed my driving test. Our Lady keeps me safe."
The car was parked in a car park outside the Eagley Infant School.
GMP confirmed the crime had been reported.
