Food hygiene inspectors have rated eight eateries in the latest round of inspections.
Examining food handling, the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety, inspectors have given four eateries a five-out-of-five rating, one venue four stars, another premises three stars, one business two stars and one firm just one star.
All Souls Café, Jolly Crofters, McDonalds at Pavilion Square and Astley Bridge Conservative Club were all awarded five stars.
On the Food Standards Agency’s website, All Souls Café at Astley Street was handed the rating after inspection on January 11.
In the inspection report, the eatery was rated "very good" for the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and "good" for their hygienic food handling and management of food safety.
Jolly Crofters at Woodlands, Chorley Old Road, Horwich, was rated a five after inspection on January 11.
In the inspection report it states the eatery is "good" for both cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and "very good" for the hygienic food handling.
McDonald’s at Pavilion Square was rated a five after inspection on January 10.
The inspection report states the hygienic food handling and cleanliness, and condition of facilities and building were both rated "good" while the management of food safety was ranked "very good".
Astley Bridge Conservative Club at Moss Bank Way scored five stars on January 7.
In the inspection report, the eatery was rated "very good" in all areas.
One eatery has been handed a four-out-of-five rating in recent inspections.

Boxd Horwich Ltd at 347 Chorley New Road, Horwich, was handed four stars on December 17.
The inspection report states the hygienic food handling, and the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building were both good whilst the management of food safety was rated generally satisfactory.
The Village Chippy at 205 Darwen Road, Bromley Cross, Bolton was handed three stars after an inspection on December 17.
KB's Caribbean Takeaway at 52 Higher Market Street, Farnworth, Bolton has also recently been handed a new hygiene rating.
They were rated a two after inspection on December 16.
The inspection report states both the hygienic food handling and the management of food safety are generally satisfactory while improvement was necessary for the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building.
Sanshan Chinese takeaway at 278 Chorley Old Road, Bolton, was handed one star after inspection on December 17.
