Bolton Mountain Rescue Team (BMRT) rushed to Rivington Pike this morning, Sunday, after someone slipped on the ice.
A team of 18 members arrived at around 10.51am after being contacted by the North West Ambulance Service to treat and free someone suspected to have dislocated their knee.
The crew stayed for around an hour.
A spokesperson for BMRT said: “This morning at 10.51am the team was contacted by the North West Ambulance Service to treat and extract a casualty with a suspected dislocated knee who had slipped on ice at Rivington Pike.
“There were 18 team members involved who stayed for an hour.
“We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.”
The organisation consists of volunteers who help to carry out search and rescue operations for missing or injured hill walkers in the West Pennine Moors.
The mountain rescue team are likely to be involved, generally, where there is a problem locating victims, or the terrain surrounding a casualty is difficult to access.
