Police have issued a statement after a 23-year-old man was taken to hospital for ‘minor injuries’ following a large disturbance.
Yesterday evening (Friday 20 January 2023), at around 5pm officers were called to reports of a large group of around 30 males assaulting another man on Deane Road in Bolton.
A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was taken into police custody for questioning.
The victim received treatment for minor injuries that were not life-threatening or life changing.
No other injuries or injured parties have been reported.
Superintendent Richard Thompson of Greater Manchester Police Bolton Division said: “I am pleased with the quick action from officers who arrived on scene and took appropriate action to bring the matter to a swift conclusion.
“Thankfully no one was seriously injured but Greater Manchester Police will not tolerate violent disorder.
“We are pursuing lines of inquiry to piece together the circumstances surrounding this incident and are aware of videos circulating online showing this attack.
