A primary school in Great Lever has been praised by the education watchdog after its latest inspection.
Bishop Bridgeman CE Primary School has achieved an overall rating of "good" after a visit by Ofsted in September.
It was the Rupert Street school's first full inspection since it was converted to an academy and joined the Archbishop Temple Multi Academy Trust in 2016 – alongside St James CE Primary School and St Maxentius CE Primary School.
A team of three inspectors, led by His Majesty’s Inspector Sarah Barraclough, attended the school over a two day period and found it to be "good" in all assessed areas.
The report notes that pupils are happy and feel safe in this “caring” school, where they are “greeted warmly by their teachers as they arrive at school each morning”.

It added: “They are proud of the rich variety of backgrounds the school serves.
"Everyone is made to feel welcome.
“Parents and carers are highly positive about the support their children receive.”
It was also noted that school leaders have high expectations for all the pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
They learn the same curriculum as their peers and are supported well by staff to keep up as best they can.
The pupils’ good behaviour was also recognised, as they were described as “polite and respectful to each other and adults”.
“Pupils get on with their work without disruption and try hard,” it was added.
“They listen attentively and respond to questions from staff enthusiastically.
“Leaders’ kind and caring ethos permeates everything that pupils do. For example, pupils take on the responsibility of being children’s chaplains.
"This teaches them how to look after each other and supports them to resolve any minor friendship issues."
It was also reported that pupils have a broad range of physical and sporting activities throughout the day, including before school and at lunchtime.

Chair of the school’s governors, Revd Ian Hepburn, said: “I’m extremely proud of the staff and pupils at Bishop Bridgeman CE Primary School for all the hard work and effort that has gone into a rigorous and at times challenging Ofsted inspection.
“The school has developed a positively ambitious and yet nurturing culture, and the inspection report has picked up on this, highlighting that the schools’ achievements have come about not because of one or two good aspects of school life, but rather the combined efforts and dedicated hard work of both staff and pupils over many years.
“As chair of governors, I’m privileged to see behind the scenes the skill and enthusiasm of a team ably led by Mrs Hafeji, and who deliver such consistently high standards.
“They are a credit to their community.”
