A yellow warning for ice remains in place for Bolton today but no snow is forecast in the coming days, according to The Met Office.

More snow fell yesterday and continued into the morning causing delays for commuters.

Temperatures plunged below minus 10C for many parts of the UK overnight, which was said to be the coldest night so far.

Manchester Airport was forced to close its runways.

Motorists faced delays on the busy roads in Bolton and on the motorways.

Today temperatures will struggle to get above five degrees and fall to lows of -3 degrees.

But the sun will come out for Bolton's royal visit, with His Majesty King Charles III visiting today.

Crowds will gather before lunchtime as his Majesty visits Bolton, the first time a monarch has visited the town for three decades.
