Over the past few weeks, over 150 residents have contacted me regarding the erection of 6G masts across the constituency.
Frankly, they are a complete eyesore.
I’ve been working with our hard-working local Conservative councillors, in the most affected areas of Breightmet and Bradshaw, to call out how inconsiderate the way in which the company has gone about the installations.
I appreciate residents’ concerns about the masts and would like to assure you of my opposition to how the masts have been built, especially in light of no significant public consultation being factored in.
Bolton Council are currently investigating the matter, and will take appropriate enforcement action where necessary.
Members of Parliament have no enforcement powers on planning matters and therefore, the assistance I am able to provide is encumbered.
Nevertheless, please accept my assurances that I will provide assistance to constituents wherever feasible, and if you feel strongly please make contact with me.
I have written to IX Wireless demanding that they now listen and respond appropriately to Bolton residents’ concerns and opposition.
Many of these masts are unsightly, and no one wants to be staring at one of these at any time of the day whilst in the comfort of our own living rooms.
