We've rounded up a number of Bolton cases heard by magistrates recently - read on to find out who's been in the dock.

Trespassing

A man was given a suspended jail sentence after trespassing and stealing in Bolton.

Vincent Adam Place, 41, of Beechwood Street, Bolton, admitted to Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court that he had entered an Aldi with intent to steal on Sunday, July 3 last year.

He also admitted to stealing stationary from WH Smiths on January 6 this year.

Place was given a sentence of four weeks, suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay a total of £150.

Breach

A man has been fined after failing breaching the conditions of his release from prison.

Craig Paul Stanton, 33, of no fixed abode, Farnworth, admitted to Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court that he had breached his order by failing to maintain contact with his responsible officer between October 11 and 24 last year.

Stanton was ordered to pay £100.

Driver

A man was ordered to pay more than £800 after failing to identify a driver for police.

Naeem Ahmad, 33, of Bride Street, Bolton, proven at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court to have failed to have identified the driver of an Audi on April 26 last year.

He was ordered to pay a total of £816.

Assault

A man was given a community order and ordered to pay almost £400 after an assault in Bolton.

Drago Brennan, 27, of Brookhouse Terrace, Wigan, had originally pleaded not guilty to the assault, which was committed in Bolton on May 30 last year, before Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court.

But he later changed his plea to guilty.

Brennan was given a community order requiring him to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work withing 12 months.

He was also ordered to pay a total of £395.

Licence

A man was ordered to pay more than £500 after driving without a licence or insurance in Bolton.

Thi Phuong Pham, 25, of Monks Lane, Bolton was found at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court to have driven on Walkden Road, Salford without either a licence or insurance on March 20 last year.

He was ordered to pay a total of £574.

Suspended sentence

A man was ordered to pay after failing to meet the terms of his suspended sentence.

Williams Derek Kirmman, 36 of Rushey Lea Close, Bolton, admitted to Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court that he had failed to attend Building Better Relationship Programme sessions on May 8 and October 24 last year.

He had been required to take part in the sessions as part of a suspended sentence order handed down by the same court on January 26 2021.

Kirman was ordered to carry out another 60 hours of unpaid work and to pay £60.

Assaulting police officer

A man was ordered to carry out unpaid work and pay compensation after assaulting a police officer.

Craig Anthony James, 35, of Settle Street, Bolton, was proven at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court to have assaulted to officer on September 20 2020.

James was ordered to complete 25 days of rehabilitation activity requirements along with 150 hours of unpaid work.

He was also ordered to pay a total of £395.

Driving without insurance

A man was ordered to pay more than £800 after driving without insurance in Bolton.

Tenyo Stefanov Todrov, 35, of Goulden Street, Salford, was found at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court to have driven on Stitch Mill Lane, Bolton on February 28 last year.

He was ordered to pay a total of £816.
