A salon in Bolton town centre has raised more than £200 for a men’s mental health charity.
The Place Hair and Beauty raised £210 for Bolton Manbassadors on Saturday, January 7.
The salon offered a range of treatments on the day and donated some of the proceeds of each to the charity.
Manbassadors provides a space where men can talk about their issues and mental health.

Owner Abi Quiqley is thankful for everyone who wanted to help and says they even had “a few guys drop in for more information”.
She added: “I chose men’s mental health because men don’t usually talk about their issues and don’t know where to turn. I wanted to help get the word out to let people know there is support and a community of men going through sillier things.
“In January there are higher numbers of people feeling depressed so that’s why I chose to do it.

“It didn’t go as well as expected funds wise but if that message has helped even one person it’s been a success.”
Abi added that as a business it’s “very important” to be a part of the community and to “look out for each other”.
“I’m happy to be in a position to help people and become a part of the community,” she said.
