Greater Manchester Police (GMP) deployed a four-legged officer to track down thieves in Bolton.
Yesterday evening, Tuesday, January 10, GMP received a report that burglars were in operation at a builder's merchant in the borough.
The two thieves, who police say had tried to camouflage themselves among the stock at the Travis Perkins site, were eventually found, having been sniffed out by a specialist member of the force - Police Dog Jax.
A GMP Tactical Dog Unit spokesperson said: "A report came in last night to a thieves onto Travis Perkins builder's merchants in the Bolton area.
"PD Jax was deployed and located two extra Planks.
"Yes, this duo of burglars thought it would be a good idea to blend in with supplies.
"Great work team- you nailed it."
