We've rounded up a number of Bolton cases heard by magistrates recently - read on to find out who's been in the dock.
Restraining order
A man was jailed and fined after breaching a restraining order.
Matthew Thomas Sayers, 33 of Firwood Lane, Bolton, admitted to Bolton Magistrates Court that he had breached the order by contacting his victim on December 30 last year.
This was in breach of an order made by Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on November 25 2021.
Sayers was jailed for six weeks and ordered to pay a total of £239.
No licence or insurance
A man was ordered to pay more than £800 after driving a van without a licence or insurance.
Gary Jackson, 58 of Cooke Street, Farnworth, was found to have driven the Ford Transit Connect van on Roosevelt Road, Bolton without either a licence or insurance on April 26 last year.
This was proven by single justice procedure at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court.
Jackson was ordered to pay a total of £816.
Identify driver
A man was ordered to pay more than £300 after failing to identify a driver for police.
Tanvier Khan, 28 of Settle Street, Bolton, was found to have failed to identify the driver of a Vauhall Vestra when asked to do so by police on April 26 last year.
This was proven by single justice procedure at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court.
Khan was ordered to pay a total of £308.
Thefts
A man was given a community order after a series of thefts across Bolton.
Damien Dunstan, 40 of Chorley New Road, Bolton, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court that he had stolen timber planks, cheese and meat, packets of Persil, and Fair Laundry pods between August and September last year.
He was given a 12 month community order and ordered to pay compensation of £172.30.
Dunstan was also ordered to take part in a 12 month drug rehabilitation programme and to complete 35 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
Driving
A man was ordered to pay more than £800 after he failed to identify a driver for police.
Matthew Thomas Bibby, 42 of Ashwood, Stoneclough, failed to identify the Audi driver on May 6 last year despite police asking him to do so.
He was found to be guilty by single justice procedure at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court,
Bibby was ordered to pay a total of £816.
Speeding
A man was fined after speeding in Bolton.
Jozef Tokar, 33 of Spring Mill Close, Bolton, was found to have driven at speeds of 44mph in a 30mph zone on the A579 Derby Street on March 27 last year.
This was proven by single justice procedure at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court.
Tokar was ordered to pay a total of £417.#
Wasting police time
A man has been ordered to pay hundreds of pounds after wasting police time.
Seth Aspinall, 50 of Manchester Road, Bolton, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court that he had knowingly made a false 999 call between March and December last year.
He was ordered to pay £500.
Probation
A man was fined after missing appointments with probation.
Christopher Phillip Jones, 40 of Bryn Walk, Bolton admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court that he had missed appointments on April 7 and September 1 last year.
He had been required to go to the appointments as part of a suspended sentence order handed down by the same court on February 16.
Jones was ordered to pay £40.
