The festive season maybe over but the difference the season of goodwill makes will continue to be felt.
For Christmas wrappers who returned to the Market Place Shopping Centre raised £4,664 for a Bolton charity.
A dedicated team of volunteers returned to the shopping centre to raise funds for Fortalice.
The gift wrap service ran from Black Friday weekend all the way through until Christmas Eve, helping any last-minute shoppers.
The team was led by voluntary organiser Gene Spurr.
Over the past 27 years of festive wrapping, Gene and her team have raised a total of £125,139 for Fortalice with thanks to the support of Bolton shoppers.
Gill Smallwood Chief Executive of Fortalice said: “We are truly grateful for Gene’s commitment each year, organising this brilliant fundraiser for us and to all of the volunteers who wrap for us, giving their time so freely.
“Thank you to everyone who has donated, this helps us continue to make a difference for our victims of domestic abuse”.
Gene said: “Thank you to The Market Place management, and facilities team who always assist us and donate the materials, the several shops who have kept us going with complementary teas and coffees.
“Thank you to the Bolton citizens who support us year after year and all the voluntary wrappers.
“It is our pleasure to support Fortalice helping local, Bolton people.”
