Three Westhoughton Slimming World groups raised £526.50 for Wigan and Leigh Hospice at their Christmas Ball.
At an event at Westhoughton Cricket Club, members of the Hindley Green and Daisy Hill meetings came together to raise funds for the charity selling raffle prizes.
They also collected donations for the Brick Community Collection with members bringing in various foods, toys, and clothes to group sessions.
They received so many donations that as a group they decided to also donate to the food bank at their local Tesco Express in Hindley Green.
Catherine Cleary, leader of three Slimming World Groups said: “I would say that this was a successful evening for me and my groups due to the amazing entertainment and the huge raffle to raise money for Wigan and Leigh Hospice, a place very close to my heart.
“My members were ecstatic with their raffle prizes and thanks to them we ended up raising a fantastic amount of £526.50.
“Thanks to my lovely members we were able to make a difference this Christmas and help those in need.
“There is always a seat available in my groups for new members wanting to join in 2023 and achieve their dreams.”
