People were almost queuing out of the door as a new village café opened this week.
Hannah's Pantry opened in Little Lever after owner and manager Liz Snape, decided to completely change her career after her daughter Hannah was born.
She previously worked as a HR manager and wanted to move away from the stress the job carried.
The café is named after her 18-month-old daughter.
Liz said: “I was very nervous and anxious about leaving my daughter.
“I haven’t left her before, but my mum has got her.
“And the first day was busier than I thought.
“I think we are going to succeed, and we are going to make it.”
She said that there has been a lot of interest from neighbours and the Slimming World group that she goes to.
Liz also says that she has already received her first review on her Facebook page.
The eatery has undergone a huge refurbishment, which replaces the former coffee shop ‘Café 93’.
The café also used to be known as Twins Pantry in 2004, and the former owner Carol Hardman says she was pleased with the new look.
Carol’s business was open for five years, before she moved on to nursing.
She said: “I come back every time somebody opens a new business in this building.
“It’s lovely coming back to this.
“It’s like being back in my own café with the tables and chairs.”
Cllr Andrea Taylor-Burke – who represents Little Lever and Darcy Lever – also came to show her support.
She said: “I always like to support businesses round here and there are some really good ones.
“I think it’s really important that we shop local.”
Customers can expect all the usual breakfast treats, including specials, pies, pasties, cold sandwiches, jacket potatoes and more.
Liz is planning to keep the café open everyday throughout January to see if there is a quiet day.
She added: “I hope we carry on being busy and make it a successful café in the village because there aren’t a lot.”
Hannah’s Pantry is open Monday – Friday from 8am-1pm, and 9am-1pm Saturday and Sunday.
