A schoolboy who died in a crash has been named as Lucas Ashton as his heartbroken family released a picture of him.
The tragedy happened on Friday afternoon when the 11-year-old was riding his bicycle down Vernon Street in Bolton and was involved in a road traffic collision with a bus.
Emergency services were called to the scene and Lucas was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
His family are being supported by Greater Manchester Polices specialist officers.
The driver of the bus remained at the scene and continues to assist officers with their enquiries.
No arrests have been made.
Officers are continuing to appeal to members of the public - particularly passengers who were on the bus in question - to please make contact.
The tragedy has left the community in shock.
Flowers have been laid in tribute to Lucas.
Resident Leoni Johnson said: “Being a mum, you always put yourself in that situation and you think what if it was my child lying there?”
“There were police all around, they were all around the backstreets there were riot vans, it even looked like there were armed police.
“Honestly, it's so horrible, it's one of the worst things to have happened round here.
“What’s absolutely heart wrenching is all the things he won’t get to do, he won’t get to grow and a family will have to live with that.
