A road in Heaton will be closed for a few days in the middle of January for vital works.
Beverley Road will be shut for around three days from January 16 for electricity works.
The road closure will prevent all traffic from proceeding on Beverley Road, from Chorley New Road to the back of Chorley New Road, to allow the works to take place.
Alternative routes for traffic will be via Mornington Road and Harrow Road so drivers can travel around the area with ease.
To ensure recycling bins are emptied during the works, the council is asking residents to put them out at the nearest accessible point to ensure that they can be emptied.
The local authority has also apologised for any inconvenience the closure may cause.
