Bolton residents still have time to have their say on the latest council budget proposals that would see a 4 per cent increase in council tax.
On December 12 the Cabinet agreed to consult on budget plans that would see a £4.3m reduction in the council’s overall budget.
Included in the one-year budget is a rise in council tax of at least four per cent, as well as more than £4 million in cuts to address issues such as inflation.
The residents and stakeholder views will be used to guide and shape the decisions, given the financial challenge facing the council.
The one-month public consultation on the proposals started this week after approval by Town Hall bosses.
The cuts are set to come from four areas of operation – adult services is the most affected, followed by children's services, place and corporate resources.
The only area of operation to avoid these cuts is public health, following a one-off contribution by the NHS.
The consultation period will until midday on Monday January 9, 2023.
To contribute to the public consultation, residents are asked to use the Bolton Council website.
