A Bolton man has been spared prison for careless driving.
Irfan Mahmood carried out the offence on the M55 at Kirkham, Lancashire in June this year.
At Preston Magistrates Court he admitted he did so without due care and attention.
The 21-year-old also admitted at the time he was disqualified and did not have insurance for the BMW which he was driving.
Mahmood, from Cawdor Street, Farnworth, was given a sentence of 12 weeks which was suspended for a year.
It was suspended due to the absense of previous convictions and personal circumstances.
He was ordered to pay costs of £239 and banned from the roads for a year.
The court took his guilty plea into account when determining the sentence which it would impose.
