Transport police stopped a sports car last night with no insurance.

The GMP Transport Unit were out in Manchester when they spotted the McLaren sports car.

After a quick check, it was discovered that the driver had no insurance, and he was sent home in a taxi.

The driver can retrieve his car the following day after showing the correct insurance.

A spokesman for GMP said: “GMPTransportUnit hooked this McLaren Sports Car tonight, Peter Pan had no Insurance. OH YES HE HAS.

“Unfortunately, he didn't so car was seized, no insurance and Peter went back to Never Neverland in a taxi.

“Hopefully tomorrow he can claim his treasure with the right Insurance.”

Recently in December, a BMW in Halliwell was stopped for also having no insurance.

After stopping the car and questioning the driver, officers then seized the car.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “The driver of this vehicle was on Santa's naughty list this year.

“They were caught driving this vehicle around Halliwell with no insurance.

“It was promptly stopped, and the vehicle seized by officers.”

This comes after other recent cases of car related crime, including the use of cloned number plates, driving without insurance and driving without a license in and around the Bolton area.

Many of these have resulted in cars being seized by officers and sanctions handed out to owners.
