Bolton Market is open for an additional day over Christmas to allow shoppers as much time as possible to prepare for the festive season.

Typically, the market is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, even while work to add to and improve the site is ongoing.

But next week, as well as opening on all of these days, it is also opening on Wednesday.

On offer from around 200 stallholders is a range of food and drink, as well as gift ideas to suit all tastes.

The market is closed between Christmas Day and December 28, after which it is business as usual again.
