Bolton Council has apologised after bins were not collected in some the borough’s areas due to the frosty conditions.
Snow was general all over the region over Monday with Bolton having seen its share of ice and frost, particularly in outlying areas with the Met Office having issued a yellow warning across much of the North West.
As a result the borough council says that its staff were not able to empty bins in certain areas but say they will work to rectify this as soon as possible.
A Bolton Council spokesperson said: “Due to snow and ice, we were unable to empty bins in some areas today.
“Please leave your bin out as normal, and we will try to get to you within 48 hours of your collection day.
“We apologise for the inconvenience.”
Bin collections are also scheduled to change over the Christmas period.

No bin collections will take place on Monday December 26, Boxing Day, thanks to tipping facilities in the borough being closed.
This will be in effect just for Boxing Day, but for the rest of the week green bins and food caddies will not be collected.
Bin collections will then go back to normal in the new year on the week beginning Monday January 2.
