An award-winning finance company has expanded into a multi-million pound new office building in Bolton.
Marlborough Group handles more than £10bn for investors in the UK and all around the world and has now opened New Marlborough House on Chorley New Road.
Officially opened on Monday, November 28 by mayor of Bolton, Cllr Akhtar Zaman, the premises are right next to the company’s existing headquarters and mark a major step forward for the company.
Chairman Andrew Staley said: “The Marlborough story began in Bolton in 1986 and we’ve gone from strength to strength ever since, growing into one of the leading privately owned investment fund businesses in the UK.
“The experience and commitment of our first-class team in Bolton has always been hugely important to the success of the group, helping us to achieve our reputation for both investment expertise and an all-important can do attitude.”
Mr Staley was on hand for the new office’s official opening with Cllr Zaman last Monday, which was also attended by the group’s finance director Dom Clarke.
Having been first established in Bolton more than 35 years ago the business has now grown with offices established in London, Dublin, Bristol, Lichfield, and Peterborough.
The group’s investment business, Marlborough, manages a range of 19 investment funds on behalf of more than 200,000 clients all across the world, earning a succession of business awards in the process.
The new building represents the latest step forwards for the Bolton company and has taken around 18 months to refurbish and extend but is now finally ready to receive staff.

It will now accommodate around half of the 200 people employed by the company in Bolton, while the rest of them will stay in the original headquarters.
The work on the new office building has included the construction of a two-storey rear extension, which is linked to the rest of New Marlborough House via a floor-to-ceiling glass walkway.
Mr Staley said: “The opening of New Marlborough House marks the latest chapter in our exciting growth story and demonstrates our continuing commitment to Bolton, the town where it all started for us.”
