A Westhoughton indoor play centre is sharing the spirit of Christmas with a special charity event and is appealing to other local businesses to help them.
Party and Play Funhouse, based on the Wingates Industrial Estate, is opening up its extensive premises free on Thursday, December 8.
Any accompanied child can go along to enjoy the day and its special attractions with an hour’s free fun in exchange for donations of non-perishable food, toiletries or new and unopened toys.
This is to support charity Westhoughton Assist Service which is currently helping many local families in crisis.
Party and Play owner Catalina Sastre explained: “Last year, we had a special day in aid of Urban Outreach in Bolton and the event was a resounding success with hundreds of donated items of food, nappies, toiletries and toys.
“This year, we are supporting Westhoughton Assist Service because they do an amazing job for local people who definitely need our help this year.”
Catalina added that she is also appealing to other local businesses to help Party and Play’s efforts by donating prizes for its raffle - one of many fundraising activities being held on the day.
“We’re happy to acknowledge their kindness with a list of sponsors on display as well as mentioning them in our newsletter and on our social media pages,” said Catalina.
Anyone who can donate a prize should call 01942 818195 or email info@partyandplayfunhouse.co.uk
As well as all the fun activities for children to enjoy on December 8 there will be Santa (in his sustainable grotto), Christmas crafts, festive photo opportunities and market stalls.
As part of its other Christmas plans, Party and Play is also separately holding Lunch with Santa on Wednesday, December 7 and a Christmas Party on Friday, December 9 with magician and entertainer Mr Stix, Christmas food, games and prizes.
