The festive period has officially begun in Bolton as the Mayor, Cllr Akhtar Zaman, visited Heaton Fold Garden Centre to select the Town Hall tree.
The Mayor was joined by garden centre staff for the annual tradition of selecting the official tree from among the selection premium quality Nordmann Firs.
Located in a picturesque valley just on the outskirts of Bolton town centre, Heaton Fold offers work experience for adults with learning disabilities.
Students come to Heaton Fold to undertake a range of work-related tasks and activities in a safe and supportive environment to enhance their skills.
Cllr Zaman, said:“I’m delighted to visit Heaton Fold and see first-hand the wide selection of quality Christmas trees and gifts available for the community.
“Bolton has so much to offer its residents this Christmas and that starts with our many local businesses who are working so hard to get everything ready.
“I’d like to encourage everyone to support small, local businesses and stall holders like Heaton Fold, where you can, as our thoughts turn to the festive holiday.”
Heaton Fold is hosting its annual Christmas Night Market on Thursday, December 8 from 5pm until 8pm with the Garden Centre opening as normal at9am. Guests will get a chance to see all the lights and displays at night, while also enjoying a pop-up Christmas market, Santa’s Grotto, live music, and a seasonal menu in the Café.
