A new manager of a pub and hotel is hoping to put it “back on the map” after taking it over.
Emy Atherton has taken over The Bridge Hotel on Church Street, Horwich.
Emy says her taking over was the perfect time to give the place a new identity.
She said: “Going forward we want this to be a place where families can come in and have a nice drink and a spot to eat.
“The hotel rooms are available as well, so people can have dinner and stay overnight.
“We really want this to be known as a hub of the community because we want to get involved with the local community.”
Emy said she plans on staying long-term and getting to know the locals.
She previously ran The Robert Peel pub in Bury.
Emy says she absolutely thrives when meeting new people, and loves putting a smile on people’s faces.
She added: “We want to put The Bridge back on the map where people can enjoy good food and good beer, as well as somewhere to stay.
“I love putting a smile on someone’s face whether they are two-years-old and having a tantrum and then I cheer them up or I play with them, I want everyone to leave happy.”
She says peoiple will be at the heart of what she does.
Emy said: “We want good quality products on our table and customer service to be the best it can be.”
The pub is busy preparing for Christmas and inviting the community into take part in wreath and baking workshops.
The menu will remain the same, but there is a special Christmas day and festive menu available.
Emy said: “We are getting the word out there and hoping to get a lot of things in place during the run up to Christmas.”
