Three men - one reportedly armed with a gun - burst into a pub in Bolton in a case not thought to be linked to a trio of alarming incidents in which shots were fired in Farnworth.
Police said the men entered a premises on Vernon Street at 6.30pm last night, Saturday, and one of them was carrying a "suspected firearm".
A gun was not fired and no-one was injured though.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said no arrests have been made but an investigation is "progressing at pace" and the force is "pursuing multiple lines of enquiry".

Not long before the incident at the pub, at around 5.20pm, police were called to Parkfield Avenue in Farnworth after a "suspected firearms discharge" in which multiple shots were reportedly fired.
Armed officers attended and cordons were set up as police secured the area.
Police then responded to an incident on Bradford Road, where two vehicles crashed, and also on Lavender Road, where a vehicle had been driven into an address.
A Land Rover Defender with a smashed window and a door left open was parked up on the middle of the pavement inside a cordon on Bradford Road.
Extra officers remain in Farnworth on patrol to "offer the public reassurance" and will speak to residents if they have any information or concerns.
Last night, Saturday, police said the three Farnworth incidents were being treated as "connected" and cordons were set up.
This afternoon, Sunday, police said the incident on Vernon Street is not believed to be connected to the spate of crimes in Farnworth but detectives "are keeping an open mind".
A GMP spokesperson said: "No arrests have been made at this time, but the investigation is progressing at pace and Greater Manchester Police Criminal Investigation Department is pursuing multiple lines of enquiry.
"The incident is not believed to be connected to wider disturbances on Parkfield Avenue and Lavender Road in Farnworth last night (Saturday), but investigators are keeping an open mind
"Police are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident on Vernon Street - or may have footage - to please share it."
