A new restaurant has opened on the site of the old India Gate.
Ewe Restaurant and Bar opened for VIP guests on Thursday before officially opening its doors on Friday.
The owners bill it as a new modern British restaurant and bar.
It features a private dining room for special occasions, a garden room, and an open plan bar area.
General manager Remi Khodr said: “It’s been three months of blood, sweat and tears.
“I mean everybody has done such a great job and we’ve been working overnight to come up with this finished product.
“I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we are proud of it.
“I am over the moon and very, very excited.
“We’ve been working on it to be able to stand out in the market, and we’ve been to all our competitors and seen all of their business models.
“So, we took it and we elevated, and hopefully we will come up with the best restaurant in Bolton at the moment.”
Apprentice star Aaron Willis made a special appearance.
He said: “I’m originally from Westhoughton anyway and I knew it was open so as I was driving past, I thought it was really, really nice, and I’m glad to come here; it looks amazing.”
The restaurant will accommodate up to 90 customers.
There will also be live music and performances on stage at the weekends in the main bar area.
Operations manager Nathan Baxter said: “We’ve had a really good response from the local community.
“People have come from the city.
“Travelling to come to a destination is what we wanted.
“We wanted to try and create a venue that becomes part of the community.”
The restaurant is almost fully booked for Christmas.
The venue is also set to open an outdoor terrace in 2023, with stunning views overlooking Rivington Pike.
