A Christmas bingo will be held to raise money in memory of a Bolton solider.
Darren Deady was shot in a firefight in Afghanistan in 2010 and, despite the best efforts of his fellow soldiers who managed to stabilise him, he ultimately died at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham on September 10 the same year.
In his memory The Darren Deady Foundation was set up.
Horwich Community Centre will be staging a fundraiser on Sunday, November 26 to raise money for the foundation and Horwich Foodshare Foodbank.
The fundraiser will take place from 1pm until 4pm - but organisers are in need of a Mr and Mrs Claus. If any Bolton News readers would like to play either of these roles, they are asked to contact Peter Wright at: horwichfoodshare@gmail.com
Ideally organisers are looking for someone with their own costume, but not essential and are aged 18 or over to play the role for up to two hours.
Free mince pies and wine will be provided along with reindeer food.
