A Bolton man has been jailed after leading police on high speed pursuits.
Craig Sloane was given a suspended sentence for driving while disqualified in December 2020.
But Bolton Crown Court heard he was spotted in a Black Audi A3 by police in July last year at around 11am.
He made off at speed down Deane Church Lane overtaking other vehicles.
When he made off onto St Helens Road he drove at 90mph in a 30mph zone.
Sloane moved past a lorry which was in the process of turning right and then narrowly missed a parked car.
He came to a pedestrian walkway with a grass verge of a significant height.
Keith Jones, prosecuting, said: “He moved round the verge at speed with not regard to pedestrians that may have been on the other side.
“He lost control and he crashed into a tree.”
Sloane then ran from the vehicle and officers caught him.
And Sloane again was spotted in a car - a white Audi at 4pm in August this year.
He broke suddenly and officers requested that he turn the engine off.
Sloane sped off down Russell Street and came onto Chorley New Road.
He went on the wrong side of the road, headed through multiple red lights before mounting the pavement then contravened a no entry sign.
He left the vehicle and was detained.
Sloane, 32, appeared in court to be sentenced after admitting two counts of dangerous driving, driving without a licence or insurance and breaching a suspended sentence.
Mark Friend, defending, said: “He recognises he is a little too old to be behaving like a teenager, driving motor cars unlawfully and becoming involved in pursuits with the police.”
He said he had pleaded guilty and was looking to make sure this was his last criminal behaviour.
Judge Tom Gilbart said both incidents showed Sloane to be “arrogant and selfish” and said he was a “high risk of reoffending and a high risk of harm.”
He jailed Sloane, from Brandwood Street, Bolton, for 22 months and banned him from the roads for four years and seven months.
