A memorial bench in tribute to Bolton singer Tom Parker of The Wanted is planned to be installed in the place he used to go with his friends.
Friends of Tom, who died from a brain tumour at the age of just 33, are raising funds to place the bench in Seven Acres Country Park.
Pal Aaron Duggan said that Tom, who grew up in Tonge Moor, was proud of his town.
He said: "We are trying to raise money for a memorial bench that will be located in Bolton for Tom's family, friends and fans to come visit and also at the same time raising money for Ahead of the Game Foundation, this charity helped Tom cope with the struggling times that he had while battling cancer which Tom unfortunately lost in March, 2022.
"The reason I feel that Tom's memory has to be sustained in the community of Bolton through a memorial bench is because Tom loved Bolton. Tom was proud of his town, proud of his life and achievements.
"Tom helped me change my life, he motivated not only me but all of his friends in Bolton.
"Tom made me realise life can change very rapidly in any direction.
"A young man from Bolton to achieve stardom and then after all the achievements that Tom accomplished, throughout all of this Tom remained humble.
"Tom dedicated time to not only me but many others around.
"I feel I owe Tom and I can't repay him for his support but I can help keep Tom's legacy alive."
A charity night will be held at The Swan Pub in Churchgate, Bolton town centre, where Tom would take to the stage.

Aaron said: "The location at The Swan Churchgate Bolton, has great significance to Tom's honour.
"This is the stage that changed Tom's life.
"We hope by creating this charity event that will give a platform to a whole new generation of young aspiring musicians to perform and shine through music and performances on the same stage that a global sensation kid from Bolton once achieved."
The charity night takes place tomorrow (Friday, 18 November) from 7.30pm where there will be live music.
