There is congestion the M60 due to an earlier accident.
An accident on the M60 near junction 11 Eccles is causing some delay and motorists are warned to follow speed guidelines along the way.
Earlier this evening, National Highways North West tweeted: “The #M60 clockwise within J11 (#Eccles), lanes 2 and 3 (of 3) are closed due to a collision.
“There is approx. 2.5 miles of congestion on approach, causing delays of 20 minutes above usual journey times.”
The lanes have now been reopened but delays are still expected up to 2 miles and commuters are warned to approach with caution and plan journeys ahead of time to ensure safety and getting to destinations on time.
In an updated statement, the National Highways North West said: “All lanes have now reopened on the #M60 clockwise within J11 (#Eccles) following the earlier collision.
“There is still approx. 2 miles congestion on approach, please allow extra time for these delays to clear.”
Live traffic and travel data system Inrix reported on the accident and said traffic was easing but still slow.

A statement said: “Traffic easing, earlier accident on M60 clockwise at J11 A57 Liverpool Road (Barton). Lanes two and three (Of three) were closed.”
