A coffee shop owner did a double take when one of football’s most famous faces walked through the door.
Brewed Coffee in Horwich's Moumita Patel, couldn't believe it when Gary Neville dropped by.
Moumita says she was near one of the window tables cleaning when she saw Gary at the other window table.
She says that the former Manchester United player and now Sky Sports News pundit, had a regular coffee, water, and some tasty bites, while he sat by the window in a meeting.
Moumita said: “He came in just after 1.30pm yesterday.
“I had to look twice to make sure it was him.
“It’s only a small coffee shop and there are plenty of others to try, but I’m very happy that he came to my shop.”
Lots of her customers have been asking her why Gary was there, but she says she just wanted to leave him to it.
Whilst she is not a huge football fan, she does love sports and says she couldn’t resist taking a picture once she knew it was him.
She did manage to get a selfie and an autograph for her daughter though.
Moumita added: “He was a lovely man and very kind.
“He was a gentleman.”
It is not the first time that the Bury-born star has visited Bolton.
In August this year Gary chose Bolton’s famous pastie shop, Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe, to record his popular podcast ‘The Overlap’.
He was also joined by international and local legend Amir Khan, as a guest, to chat to him about his life.
The shop was also close to his heart, with the owner Marie Walsh having known the family before Gary and Phil were even here.
Marie saw Gary grow up, and remembers when he came in as a youngster to pick up some tasty bites to take to Bury Football Club for games, where he would pass them on to celebrities at half time.
