A popular cafe which was put on the market a few months ago is now back on the market with the owners left feeling 'devastated' and 'heartbroken'.

Cafe Vienna on Wigan Road, Bolton, is back on the market after the first sale fell through causing Margaret and Greg Wood to miss out on a new home and retirement plans.

Ruth Wood, 43, daughter of the owners, said: "Mum and dad on the day of completion drove 250 miles down to Wiltshire and the money didn't go through so it has cost my parents nearly £10,000 in a month to come down thinking they were moving into their new house and the money has not gone in.

"They have now had to move back up to Bolton whilst they wait for their property to be bought.

"They had a month down here trying to make it work but it never did.

"How they sleep at night after having allowed the move to progress so far, forcing my parents to spend thousands of pounds uneccessarily.

"My mum and dad are really upset, they are heartbroken because they have missed out on a Grade II listed cottage in Wiltshire because of the sale falling through.

"They have had their retirement taken away from them.

"They are deflated and devastated and to put it lightly it has been traumatic.

"It's heartbreaking for me to see because they were supposed to be retiring so they could spend more time with my son and they are now 200 mile away still."

Ruth said the property has so much potential and they are desperate to find someone who will love it as much as they did.

She said: "It is a cafe that my parents have had for many many decades and they have owned it ever since, it is in perfect condition for someone to buy it.

"The ovens and cookers are still there, the fires are still there and the facilities are still there for it to be a business, it's a good earner and the community absolutely love it.

"But it could also be turned into a house, upstairs there is a lounge and a bedroom with onsuite, another bathroom and two further bedrooms.

"The lounge upstairs could be turned into another bedroom and the space downstairs could be turned into a lounge.

"The amount of property you are getting for that price is extensive and there are a further two rooms down in the cellar as well.

"There is even potential to turn it into flats.

"There is just so much potential as well because of its location right next to the park.

"Everything is freshly painted, there are brand new carpets throughout and the bathrooms and kitchen have been redone in the last ten years.

"There is even a five out of five for health hygiene."

The property is currently up for offers of over £270,000.
