Wanderers game at Cambridge United this weekend will be officiated entirely by members of the military.
As part of the annual Remembrance weekend commemorations, it has been announced that referee, RAF Sergeant Darren Drysdale, will be joined by three other members of the Armed Forces as part of his team.
The two assistant referees will be Army Corporal Declan O’Shea and Captain Steve Finch, and Royal Navy Petty Officer Scott Jackson will be the fourth official.
It is believed to be the first game in the modern professional EFL that all four officials will have come from the forces.
Wanderers had their Remembrance tribute before the recent game against Peterborough United but captain Ricardo Santos will lay another wreath as part of Cambridge United’s ceremony on Saturday afternoon.
Both teams and sets of supporters will then be invited to join for a minute's silence, followed by the playing of the Last Post by a local Bugler.
Wanderers are also selling a £5 pin badge in the club shop to commemorate the 2022 Poppy Appeal, with all proceeds going to the Royal British Legion.
