A well-known Bolton celebrity was spotted in his home-town as he came back to the borough to film for ITV and People's Postcode Lottery.
Vernon Kay was spotted in front of Bolton's town hall steps yesterday morning sat on a sofa with film crews from ITV surrounding him as he filmed an ITV advertisement for the Postcode Lottery.
Residents who were shopping in town at the time he was spotted said they were really pleased the TV sensation has come back to his home town, shining a light on it.
One resident Peter Haslam said: "Vernon Kay was filming an ITV advert for the Postcode Lottery.
"I'm not sure if anyone won from Bolton but it did look like there were members of the public sat on the sofa with him.
"People were pleased to see him in town with some people actually thanking him for not forgeting his roots.
"It's great to see Bolton on TV especially the the town hall, the jewel in the crown!
"Plus the sunny weather was a bonus."
This isn't the first time Vernon has come back to Bolton.
Vernon joined sport stars as the Rugby League World Cup trophy arrived at The Albert Halls before Bolton hosted the game between England and France.
The TV presenter and I’m A Celeb star was joined by the winning teams from the Festivals of Rugby League, a vast array of rugby stars and sporting professionals, the council’s Deputy Leader, Cllr Hilary Fairclough and newly appointed Chief Executive, Sue Johnson.
Vernon frequently comes back to the area to support the town he grew up, and now people are asking where he will be spotted next.
The town hall steps have featured in many a hit drama, The Stranger on Netflix, just being one.
And Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone ran up them for a Warburtons commercial.
Bolton's stuning Le Mans Crescent is often see on television, with Bolton being dubbed as the Hollywood of the North!.
