A car that was stolen more than a month ago was found in Bolton this evening.
The white BMW had originally been reported has having been stolen in September this year and was recovered by police in Horwich.
Officers have warned that this comes in the wake of an increase in the thefts of keyless cars across the borough.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “PCSO's from the Horwich Policing team have located this vehicle in Horwich.
“The vehicle was stolen in September.
“There has been an increase in thefts of keyless cars.
“We recommend keeping your keys in signal blocking pouches which can be purchased for only a few pounds.”
As yet, no arrests have been reported in connection with the initial theft of the car.
This comes after other recent cases of car related crime, including the use of cloned number plates, driving without insurance and driving without in and around the Bolton area.
Many of these have resulted in cars being seized by officers and sanctions handed out to owners.
Police have appealed for anyone concerned about vehicle theft or about other cases of crime and anti-social behaviour on the roads to phone 101 or 999 in an emergency.
Witnesses can also contact independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
