The future of our planet is in good hands if these young people are anything to go by.
Bolton School pupils have been working to make a difference to the environment, with their efforts being recognised with a prestigious award.
The Junior boys’, the senior boys' division and the girls’ division have been awarded an Eco Schools’ Green Flag.
As party of celebrations, eco-committee representatives from across the Bolton School campus highlighted their work to the governing body.
Pupils spoke about the different projects and events, including bees, garden centre trips, planting trees and potatoes, picking up litter, recycling, and meat-free Thursdays.
Young people had also been participating in the Earthshot Prize which is designed to incentivise change and help to repair our planet over the next 10 years.
Each school gave a presentation and displayed great knowledge of the eco topics.
Hesketh House, the junior girls’ school at Bolton School, is also applying this year for eco-status. The award involves working on three distinct topics such as biodiversity and waste.
Parents have commented on how the school's eco-club has "unlocked and magnified a passion, awareness and appreciation for the environment".
Children are said to be excited by visiting RHS Bridgewater, birdwatching, litter picking and discussions on waste and recycling - helping to develop a sense of social responsibility.
