A man from Bolton  travelled the country to sit driving theory tests for people.

Salim Basalim, from Gibralter Street admitted 12 counts of fraud by false representation when he appeared in court.

The 32-year-old pretended to be someone else to take their driving theory test on 12 occassions.

He carried out the offences this year at the DVSA offices in Huddersfield, Bangor and Bolton in January, in Uxbridge and Leeds two months later, in Finchley and Preston in May, in Sidcup and Shrewsbury in June, in Derby in August and in London in September.

Basalim also carried out the same offence in Carlisle in December last year.

Basalim had been due to be sentenced when he appeared at Croydon Magistrates Court earlier this month.

However the case was adjoured for reports.

He will return to the same court later this month
