Members of Bolton Ukrainian Cultural Centre and guests from Ukraine will gather in the town centre tomorrow lunch to hold a protest – and they are trying to gather as many people as possible.

The groups will gather to protest against Putin and to show their support to the thousands of women and children who have died during the war as well as the men who have stayed in Ukraine to fight for their country.

Yaroslaw Tymchyshyn, Bolton Branch Chair of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain, is appealing for as many people as possible to gather in the town centre at the town hall steps to #StandWithUkraine from 12PM until 1PM.

The weekly public show of support for Ukraine continues tomorrow as Yaroslaw said with the renewed attacks on civilians it is as important as ever to demonstrate our solidarity.

Speaking about the protest tomorrow, Yaroslaw said: “I’m trying to get as many people as possible down tomorrow on the town hall steps because of what happened earlier this week on the Monday and the Tuesday with all the rockets going over.

“So, it is one of them now where we are looking at war crimes, we are looking at the innocent bombing of women and children and its just abominable to say the least.

“How Putin can actually equate war crimes of the bombing of that bridge to the bombing of innocent civilians where there are no military bases nearby, it’s unreal.

“I’ve emailed councillors to come and to also ask every other councillor to come across all parties, this isn’t a party thing it’s purely humanitarian now.”

The group are looking to gather as many people as possible tomorrow lunch time at 12PM to “support the innocent women and children who are being bombed and rocketed in an act of mass destruction,” continues Yaroslaw.

“What Putin wants is the destruction of the Ukraine nation and this is one way he is going to try and do it and he is definitely not going to win.”
