A former John Lewis worker has opened her own cake bakery after seven years of home baking.
Hannah Jones is the proud owner of week-old bakery CAKE by Hannah Jones in Market Street, Adlington, where she puts her array of cake creations on sale as well as offering bespoke occasion cakes.
The 27-year-old quit her job at John Lewis in London to finally open her dream business and is already selling out day by day.
Hannah brought her Disney aesthetic to the new shop in her quest to bring more people into the village.
She said: “While working at John Lewis as a central implementation manager in London and the cake business was busy, I was passionate about wanting to bring something to my community.
“I’ve always lived in Adlington and wanted to open a shop here that would service the community that have supported my home cake business over the years and bring more people into the village.”
Hannah originally started in 2015 at home before buying her premises.
She said: “I worked at John Lewis since I was 18 and, on my days, off, I learnt how to bake.
“I started doing orders for family and friends and just started to build the business that way.
“This year I thought I needed to make a decision to pick John Lewis or the baking, so I took the plunge.”
No cakes will ever be the same as Hannah works to change the display every week to freshen things up.
Talking about how her first week went since opening on October 1, Hannah said: “It’s been brilliant, I’ve put lots of money into it to make it a nice place for people to come and customers have reacted very well to it.
“It’s been so busy, and we’ve been sold out every day.”
The pretty in pink shop is already a hit currently with autumn themes running through the week.
She said: “It was a shell when we moved in but now it’s what I wanted it to look like.
“I love Disney and wanted to bring that aesthetic to the village and uplift the area, so that now it’s got cute cake shop vibes.”

CAKE By Hannah Jones is currentlu open from Thursday to Saturday.
