A man who used a BB gun to intimidate his victim also took a lock-knife in Bolton town centre, a court has heard.
Helmet Tdaha Ahmed, 37 of Derby Street, Bolton was brought before the court after using a BB gun as an imitation firearm to intimidate another man on September 1 this year, while that same day he also carried a knife on Newport Street.
Appearing before by video link from prison, Ahmed was told that he could face an extremely serious sentence for his crimes.
Judge Tom Gilbart said: “You’ve been remanded in custody, you’ll be brought back before the court at a later date and the court will decide what to do with you then.”
Justin Hayhoe, prosecuting, told the court how Ahmed did not have any good or lawful reason to have the knife or the BB gun on him at the time.
Ahmed was not represented by a barrister because of the ongoing strike, but admitted to both of these crimes before the court.
He pleaded guilty to both possession of a knife in a public place and to using an imitation firearm to make his victim believe that ‘unlawful violence’ would be used against him.
Judge Gilbart ruled that Ahmed will be brought back to Bolton Crown Court on December 2 for sentencing.
