Commuters in Bolton are being affected this morning as ‘extreme heavy traffic’ has been reported.
Vision Bus have reported that there is ‘extreme heavy traffic’ around Walkden this morning (Wednesday), with delays on their 909 service to Canon Slade School.
Vision Bus tweeted at 7:47am today: “Due to extreme heavy traffic around Walkden there are delays on the 909 service to Canon Slade, please wait at your stops.”
A crash has been reported on the A6 Chorley Road in Swinton, with the road partially blocked outside the Church Inn, with queues back into Wardley.
AA Traffic News reports queuing back to Linnyshaw with this incident as well.
AA Traffic News also shows queuing traffic on the A572 Worsley Brow, Eastbound at M60 J13.
It is also showing slow traffic on the A6 Manchester Road in Walkden this morning.
Longer delays than usual are also being shown on the M61 towards Manchester, with traffic ‘heavier than normal’ according to AA Traffic.
The motorway is congested from J1 M60 J15 (Swinton Interchange) back to J5 Westhoughton.
Traffic from the M61 is also backing up onto St Peter's Way this morning.

Another rail strike is taking place today after disruption in recent months, with members of the driver's union Aslef and the Transport Salaried Staffs Association walking out.
It is not believed at this point that any traffic incidents have occurred to cause these delays.
