Travellers remain on the site of a former primary school despite an eviction notice being served.
Three caravans have set up camp on the grounds off Kestor Street off Bury New Road in The Haulgh.
The site used to be the home of the Bolton Parish Church Primary School.
They have been in position for over a week.
Bolton Council is aware of the situation.
A spokesperson for the local authority said: "We are aware of the encampment, and a court order has been issued in line with the normal legal process."
Staff at nearby businesses have said there has been an increase in antosocial behaviour over the last week.
A staff member at a nearby enterprise, who asked not to be named, said: "It was last Sunday when they broke in.
“We are worried about losing business, it is not good.”
Businesses told The Bolton News that if they have not gone today the Travellers will be forcibly removed.
One said:"They have been told by the police to leave today or there will be a number of officers there tomorrow to encourage them to move on."
