iPhone theft
A woman has been jailed after stealing an iPhone and iPhone case worth more than £1000.
Samantha Flatley, 34 of Blackshaw House, Bolton, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court that she had stolen the smartphone and case worth £1030 on August 27.
She also also that she had failed to comply with a community order she was already serving and had failed to surrender to custody in the Magistrates court on August 29.
Flatley was jailed for a total of 18 weeks and ordered to pay compensation of £1000.
Unpaid work
A man has been fined after failing to attend an unpaid work appointment as part of his community order.
Anthony Gordon Simpson, 36 of Iris Avenue, Farnworth admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court that he had failed to come to an unpaid work appointment on July 3 and had also missed out on an appointment with Bolton Probation Office on July 19 this year.
He also failed to provide a reasonable explanation for why he had missed the appointments.
Simpson was fined a total of £153.
Probation order
A man has been fined after failing to comply with his probation order.
Goran Abdullah Darwish Bewiyani, 46 of Blackshaw Lane, Bolton admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court that he had failed to come to appointments with Bolton Probation Service on February 10, April 21 and July 7 this year.
He also failed to provide a reasonable explanation for why he had missed the appointments.
Bewiyani was fined a total of £40.
Suspended sentence
A man has been given a suspended sentence after missing his unpaid work appointments.
Daniel James Bentley, 21 of Turnstone Road, Bolton, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court that he had missed unpaid work appointments on July 3 and July 10 this year, while he also failed to provide evidence to excuse his absences.
He had been given the order after being caught with a lock knife on Great Moor Street, Bolton on January 31 last year.
Bentley was given a sentence of four months in prison, suspended for 12 months and will also still have to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work and undertake mental health treatment as directed by probation services.
Blood sample
A man has been order to carry out unpaid work and been fined after failing to give a blood sample to police after driving.
Nathan Thomas Openshaw, 18 of Bexhill Close, Little Lever, admitted to Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court that on July 7 this year he had not given police officers a sample of blood when they required him to do so for a laboratory test.
He did not provide a reasonable excuse for not providing the sample.
Openshaw was ordered to carry out 50 hours of unpaid work over the next year and has been ordered to pay a total of £199.
Domestic violance
A man has been fined after breaching a domestic violence order.
Andrew Smith, 36 of Woodvale Avenue, Great Lever, admitted to Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court that he breached the order on September 27 this year when he contacted a woman he had been forbidden to and entered her home.
He was ordered to pay £50.
Dangerous driving
A teenager has been given a suspended sentence and fined after failing to stop after an accident, dangerous driving and being found with cannabis.
Daniel Hobson, 18 of Stanier Place, Horwich, admitted to Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court that he had damaged several parked vehicles on Church Street, Radcliffe on May 18 this year and failed to stop.
That same day he drove dangerously on Spring Lane, Church Street West, Festival Gardens and Stand Lane and had cannabis on him.
Hobson was given a sentence of 32 weeks, suspended for 12 months and was ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and 10 rehabilitation requirement activity days.
He was also ordered to pay a total of £213.
