Two takeaways in Bolton have been given zero ratings by food hygiene inspectors.

Inspectors have visited 11 places serving up food in and around the borough in the latest round of inspections.

Examining food handling, the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety, inspectors have rated one eatery a four, six eateries a three, two eateries a two and two eateries zero out of fice ratings.

Top Kitchen on Mackenzie Street, Bolton, was rated a zero out of five star rating on August 11.

Within the inspection report it states major improvement is necessary for hygienic food handling and management of food safety and improvement was necessary for the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building.

Trojan on Higher Market Street, Farnworth, was also handed a zero out of five rating after inspection on August 17.

Diversion, a micro bar on Corporation Street, Bolton was awarded a new four out of five for their food hygiene after inspection on August 17.

The inspection report states the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and the management of food safety are generally satisfactory whilst the food handling was very good.

Six eateries were also rated recently and were awarded three out of five ratings.

These include Poppy's Restaurant at Global Interiors, Blackburn Road, A & M Sandwiches at Belmont Road, Bolton, Lagan Restaurant at Broadgate, Bolton, Nabucco Bar & Restaurant at Market Street, Westhoughton, Markland Hill Lawn Tennis Club at Victoria Road and Morning Tide at Mornington Road, Bolton.

All six eateries were given generally satisfactory for the hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety.

Two eateries have also been handed food hygiene ratings, of two out of five.

Roccos Desserts at High Street, Bolton, was given the score after assessment on August 16.

Little Italy at Wigan Road, Bolton, was also handed a two out of five.

The inspection report states improvement is necessary for the hygienic food handling and the management of food safety was generally satisfactory for both eateries.

While the and cleanliness and condition of facilities and building for Roccos was generally satisfactory and improvement necessary for Little Italy.
