An outdoor activities centre, which has long been a favourite of Bolton youngsters, has been honoured with two awards.
The Anderton Centre, which is part of the University of Bolton Group, won both the Leisure and Tourism Business of the Year Award and the Education Business of the Year Award at a glittering ceremony hosted at Blackpool’s grand tower ballroom by Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan Cole.
The awards were given out as part of the Be Inspired Business Awards, with boyband Blue and Smooth Radio on hand to entertain guests.
Anderton Centre CEO David Germain said: “Winning these awards is a huge honour and means so much.
"We are extremely grateful for the opportunity and the recognition.
“We would like to thank the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce for putting on a truly inspirational and magical event.”
He added: “Our mission continues to enhance education and improve health and wellbeing through outdoor activity and that means creating opportunities for all, to maximise our impact.”
The Anderton Centre is a charity based in the countryside just north of Bolton and offers a range of activities for young people and has previously been a runner up in the Most Resilient Business Category at last year’s BIBAs.
