DOG lovers from across Bolton flocked to Moses Gate Country Park to see which pretty pooch would win Best in Show.
Fifty dogs were entered into the Hearing Dogs Fun Show, organised by the Bolton and District branch of the national deaf charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
A huge array of canines competed in categories such as prettiest bitch, handsomest dog, waggiest tail, best rescue, and the Simon Says obedience test.
The winner of each category then fought it out for Best in Show, which was eventually won by a Husky dog, named Johan.
The dog was picked by a panel of judges, including Granada TV's Paul Crone.
As well as the main event, there was a demonstration by one of the specially trained "hearing" dogs and spectators were shown how the dogs are trained to alert their deaf masters to sounds like the door bell, the fire alarm, and alarm clocks.
Amanda Wilkinson, chairman of the Bolton branch, said: "It was an amazing day. The attendance was brilliant, despite the weather. So many people came out to support us. Watch this space for next year."
