Dear Style Rehab
I have a first date next weekend and I am stressing about what to wear. We are going out for dinner and then perhaps off for a few drinks. It has been ages since I have been out on a first date and don't know if a dress is too much, or are jeans too casual? I'm 28 years old and a size 12.

These days you can dress up or dress down a pair of jeans to your hearts desire. That's why they are perfect for a first date whatever is on the agenda.
You want to appear groomed, yet you don't want to look like you've tried too hard.
For dinner and drinks I would suggest a statement top and skinny jeans.
To get the look head over to boohoo.com This chiffon ruffle blouse is ultra feminine and is just £15. The nipped in waist will accentuate your curves and you can undo a few buttons as the date rolls on.
Smart skinny jeans like these, also from boohoo.com, will keep your look smart and sharp while staying yound and fresh. At £12 they won't break the bank and are perfect if you're sitting on various bar stools - you won't be shifting around covering your modesty like you would in a mini skirt.
To top the look off, this situation screams for killer heels. Head down to Office and for £60 you can get these black peep toes which are perfect for the occasion. You'll show off a bit of flesh, toe cleavage and it gives you the chance to paint your nails to match your top.
The slingback suits the feminine feel of the outfit and the heel is not too high so if you go dancing you're not going to break your neck.
Last but not least, accessories will complete the look. This season gold is great and these double disc earings, will take the look from day to night with style, whilst giving you something to seductively fiddle with.
At £6 you can surely afford to lose one of these in the heat of the moment.
Finally you're going to need a super-duper handbag to finish the look. This hexagonal gold clutch at £22 from Monsoon will be quite suitable for all your night time wares.
Just don't forget the all important ingredients, lippy and some cash, come on ladies this is the 21st Century after all.
