A legendary singer will be performing in Bolton.
Heather Small, legendary vocalist of chart-topping group M People, will be performing at The Premier Suite at Bolton Stadium Hotel.
She will be the headline act at Backup North West's annual ball next March.
The Bolton-based charity which supports young people who are, or are at risk of homelessness.
It's balls are also legendary, having previously staged a Peaky Blinders themed ball.
Maura Jackson, CEO of Backup North West, said: “Heather and I met after being introduced by a mutual friend. I met her and her lovely sister at the Bolton Fashion Festival set up by Lisa Forshaw and they were only too glad to assist Backup as they wanted to support a charity for young people facing homelessness.
“I am delighted and honoured to have Heather’s support and cannot wait for the gig as I have seen her many times before, live.
“We use the ‘Moving On Up’ song as a bit of an anthem at work, as young people are encouraged and supported to move on physically and mentally to become independent.
“Whilst this will be an amazing night for all, it is a wonderful way to raise funds for services preventing young people from rough sleeping and severe harm.”
Backup North West provide multiple services across Bolton to young people aged 16-25 years who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness.
Services they provide include supported accommodation which includes emergency housing, temporary accommodation, short and medium stay supported housing, as well as non- accommodation based support work that focuses on mental health, employment support and more.
Next year's ball will take place on Saturday, March 18.
